Cyril Augustin is an accomplished actor turned writer/ director/ producer. As the founding member of Silent Edge Films, Cyril is known for his unique creative vision and surprising twists. His love of foreign films is seen in the storytelling of his scripts combined with his contemporary Hollywood style of filmmaking.
Cyril was bitten by the acting bug at an early age. In fact, one of his favorite films, The Drunken Master, was the film that started it all for him. He attended the Zarro Acting Academy in 2000. There Cyril was introduced to the world of acting. The hard work it would take to not only succeed in the industry, but to succeed in life. Under the direction of Academy Award winning director, Antonio Zarro, Cyril soon began to take what he learned out into the world and began leaving his mark on television sets and feature film sets. Some of Cyril's work would include several FBI Files episodes, several Commercials, and feature films (i.e. The Invasion, The Judges) to name a few. Soon after, Cyril's interest would change into a new direction.
Cyril soon found a new calling. Directing. In 2003, Cyril began training to work behind the camera. He started in the editing room learning the basics of editing a film. From there, he went on to learn the different parts of a set. From Production Assistant to Sound guy, from Grip and Gaffer to DP. Cyril had his hands in every part of a film set. Then one day, when he felt Cyril was ready, Antonio Zarro handed Cyril the camera to direct his first short film. It was all uphill from there. Thanks to his mentor, Cyril was on a new journey.
In the latter part of 2004, Cyril began writing his own short films. He established C.A.L.A. Entertainment and began directing several short films under that name. In 2005, Cyril changed C.A.L.A. Ent. to Silent Edge Films. Under this new name came a whole new vision of filmmaking. Keeping to his roots, Cyril took what he learned about foreign films and combined it with the way Hollywood was making films. He began writing new materials, both shorts and features. Several of his work has reached the hands of many festivals. Including the Virginia Film Festival and Sundance.
A hard working visionary with an eye for spotting great talent, Cyril is also known for pulling out strong performances in his actors which makes for great productions. He is committed to making a strong, successful and entertaining impact on the film industry.
With several productions already under his belt, and many more in development, it's more than obvious that Cyril Augustin's star will continue to rise for years to come.- Kristel Astor was born on 9 August 1988 in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines.
